Décrit comme « un musicien élégant doté d'un sens du rythme fort et vif » (American Record Guide), le guitariste Steve Cowan s'est produit dans tout le Canada, aux États-Unis et en Europe. On retrouve, parmi les faits marquants internationaux de ces dernières saisons, des concerts avec l'Ensemble Del Arte (Allemagne), le Christchurch Symphony Orchestra (Nouvelle-Zélande) et deux albums solo avec HR Recordings (Espagne). En tant que chambriste, Steve se produit régulièrement avec Forestare, un ensemble à cordes basé à Montréal. Son duo avec le guitariste Adam Cicchillitti a créé 21 nouvelles œuvres et lancé un album de musique canadienne intitulé FOCUS (Analekta, 2019) ; leur prochain enregistrement, Impressions intimes (Analekta, 2021), présente des arrangements originaux de Debussy, Ravel, Mompou et Tailleferre. À partir de 2022, il est également le plus récent membre du célèbre Quatuor de Guitare du Canada. Steve a remporté le premier prix de huit concours internationaux et enseigne actuellement la guitare à l'Université McGill.

International highlights from recent seasons include concerto performances with Ensemble Del Arte (Germany), the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra (New Zealand) and two solo albums with HR Recordings (Spain). As a chamber musician, Steve performs regularly with Forestare, a Montréal-based string ensemble.
